Second-Guessing: Get Melky Out of There!

The Yankees had a runner on first base with no outs in the bottom of the ninth and were down 3-2 tonight against the Texas Rangers.

With Melky Cabrera due up (you know Melky Cabrera, he's the guy who was 0 for his last 18... his ever-plummeting batting average hovering around .240), Girardi did not send Derek Jeter into pinch hit. Huh?

OK then. He'll bunt then. Nope. This situation screams bunt but instead Cabrera, the New York Yankees "energy guy" swings away... double play; opportunity lost.

Melky finished 0-for-4.

I'm too aggravated to talk about Melky right now but needless to say, anyone who thinks he's more than a fourth outfielder is an idiot.

I'm a big fan of Melky Varitek. By the way, when will the Rays realize they're the freaking Rays? And are they too good now for you to rebuild them on video games?

Many more decisions like the Melky situation last night will result in Girardi'a departure - can't fathom his reasoning
