Wang Departs Early With Leg Injury

NYY Injury ReportNew York Yankees ace Chien-Ming Wang exited his start against the Astros Sunday in the sixth inning. The right hander, who had been brilliant through five innings, sustained the injury while running the bases.

After scoring from second on a two-run single by Derek Jeter, Wang had to be helped off the field by 2B Robinson Cano and trainer Steve Donohue.

It appeared that the injury was to Wang's right foot.

Coming into the game with a 7-2 record and a 4.30 ERA, Wang had hurled five scoreless innings against the Astros, scattering six hits while walking none and striking out three.
