Cast of Characters: Carlos Delgado, Bobby Abreu, Sidney Ponson & Charles Dickens

It was the best of times it was the worst of times… it was a tale of one city, two parks and two very different results.

Game One: New York Mets 15, New York Yankees 6
Carlos Delgado set a Mets record with nine RBIs and Luis Castillo scored a career-best five runs in a 15-6 rout over the host New York Yankees.

Dan Giese gave up five runs, Edwar Ramirez two, Ross Ohlendorf six, and Latroy Hawkins one.

Game Two: New York Yankees 9, New York Mets 0
In the Shea Stadium nightcap, Sidney Ponson silenced the Mets bats en route to his first Yankee win.

Bobby Abreu went 4-for-4 with a double and two stolen bases. Robinson Cano homered.

Roster Moves:
The Yankees placed Hideki Matsui on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Monday, after the loss and activated right-hander Sidney Ponson, who was scheduled to start the second game. Matsui has been bothered by a sore left knee.

The Yankees made another move on Friday, optioning relief pitcher Ross Ohlendorf to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. They recalled lefthanded pitcher Kei Igawa.

More details to come tomorrow. Good night.
