Across Enemy Lines: Schilling Out for Season; Career Over?

Curt Schilling is out for seasonRed Sox right hander Curt Schilling will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery.

The 41-year-old Schilling told radio station WEEI-AM he will have surgery on Monday.

"My season is over and there is a pretty decent chance I have thrown my last pitch forever," he said.

Early in spring training, Schilling's course of treatment was a hot topic. Red Sox physician Dr. Thomas Gill recommended rehab for a tendon injury. Schilling's physician, Dr. Craig Morgan, felt surgery was best and rehabilitation would fail -- and potentially end Schilling's career.
