Mitchell Delaney, drafted by the White Sox in the 21st round last year, put up strong offensive numbers last season for Western Texas College (Snyder, Tx.). In 171 at bats, the freshman posted a .380 batting average, .493 on base percentage, and .673 slugging.

Delaney, 19, led Western Texas in hitting (.380), home runs (13) and RBIs (45), improving nine spots in this year's draft when the Yankees took him in the 21st round. Delaney signed quickly and departed for Tampa's rookie league. He homered in his first scrimmage with the Yanks.
